#Dunkage: Shaquille Johnson

28 Jun

Georgia has been home to some of the best above the rim players for the last decade. Josh Smith got it started at Whitfield Academy/McEachern/Oak Hill Academy. He’s now one of the top highlight players in the NBA. Travis Leslie blew up at Columbia then at the University of Georgia. Both players have an intimidation factor that comes into play in real time competition. Next in line is Milton guard Shaquille Johnson. The 6-foot-4 Auburn-bound guard may be the most impressive. While the U19 team struggled in game one of the World Championships, the U16 team swept the competition in Cancun last week.

Paced by the overall power of Aaron Gordon, star strength of Jabari Parker and the inside presence of Jahlil Okafor, the younger Americans made quick work of the international field and won the gold medal in undefeated fashion.

The competition didn’t come close to the Americans and the kids from the States didn’t let any team closer than 20 points. Continue reading
