Landen Lucas is one of the top post players in the class of 2012 and the major programs are taking notice.

Lucas is a bit of a throwback center in the fact that he loves to bang down low and has a wide array of post moves. The rising senior from Findlay Prep (Nev.) is a physical big who can block shots and has a high basketball I.Q. as well.

Perhaps that is why he’s being recruited by a number of schools. The National Hoops Report caught up with the 6-foot-8 forward from Portland, Oregon.

Brian Flinn: Who are you currently considering?

Landen Lucas: Arizona, Oregon, Stanford, Kansas, Georgetown, Texas, Harvard, Tennessee, Vandy, FSU, Cal, USC, Arizona State, Washington State, Duke and Kentucky.

BF: Who has offered you so far?

LL: Arizona, Oregon, Stanford, Georgetown, Texas, Harvard, Tennessee, Vandy, FSU, Cal, USC, Arizona State, Washington State.

BF: Do you have a favorite yet?

LL: No, not at this point.

BF: How would you describe your game?

LL: Unique. I do things most post players don’t want to do these days and I enjoy doing those things.

BF: Alright who would you describe yourself to?

LL: I would say Tim Duncan’s offense and David Robinson’s defense.

BF: What would you say you’re looking for in a program?

LL: A good fit and the opportunity to make an early impact

BF: What are your goals for this summer and your senior year?

LL: Just get myself better and prepped for college.

BF: What’s it like to play for such a powerhouse like Findlay Prep, and possibly be part of the best front court in the country with Winston Shepard and Anthony Bennett?

LL: It’s great. It gets you way better as a player going against them everyday.

BP: Ok last question, ESPN has you ranked as the 94th best prospect in your class. Do you pay attention to that at all?

LL: No, in the final picture none of that matters. I’m just trying to get as good as I possibly can and see where that gets me in the end.
