After three and a half days of basketball at the 2011 Nike Peach Jam the finals are set as both BABC (MA) and Memphis YOMCA registered comfortable victories on Friday morning.

In the first game of the day YOMCA used a dominant inside game to overpower the Georgia Stars in a match-up of star studded front courts.  After only scoring in double figures in two of his team’s first five games, 2012 five-star Shaq Goodwin exploded for 29 points and 12 rebounds.  His teammate, fellow five-star big man, Jarnell Stokes chipped in 12 points and 17 rebounds.  The Georgia Stars low post duo of Tony Parker and Alex Poythress were cold from the field in going a combined 7 for 20 and 19 combined points.  YOMCA was able to speed the game up after the break and never looked back.

Joining YOMCA in the finals will be BABC after their win over the Oakland Soldiers.  2012 five-star big man Nerlens Noel went for yet another triple double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 11 blocked shots.  That stat line would really stick out if not for the fact that it’s becoming a familiar sight for the Tilton School product.  Noel would have had a quadruple double if there was a way to keep track of altered shots.  2012 five-star swing man Brandon Ashley and his 2013 five-star running mate Aaron Gordon were noticeably affected by Noel’s presence in the post.  Neither were able to get on track as the game got away from the Soldiers early after Noel sent Ashley’s first two shot attempts away from the rim.  Ashley was held to 13 points, far below his tournament average of 19.4.
