ORLANDO – When Dominic Artis committed to UCLA, even L.J. Rose knew there was no chance he would end up a Bruin.

Once strongly considering going there, Rose is now considering Texas as his lone favorite, but there have been whispers that the Longhorns have slowed down their recruitment on him a bit.

Still Rose says: “I have definitely connected with Russell Springmann of Texas the best, him and coach Barnes.”

The Texas lead guard is super talented, can run the offense in a run and gun system or in the half court. His court vision is almost video game like, and he makes great decisions with the ball in his hands. Basically he is a perfect leader for the team.

Besides Texas, Rose said Georgetown, Virginia, Memphis, Arizona, and Baylor are recruiting him.

Rose said he plans on taking his visits before he makes a decision, but still wants to make one before the school season begins; meaning Texas is still very much in play unless Javan Felix pulls the trigger sooner.

Rose said he is looking at the different programs’ style of play, how much he trusts the coaching staff, and how good the school is academically. The last two seem to hint that he is planning on staying in school for awhile before going pro.

With Artis now committed to UCLA, Rose is caught in the familiar domino tipping game of recruiting. Click here for more on that.
