ORLANDO – One of the top players for the vaunted Boo Williams squad is small forward Troy Williams. He is ranked as the number 6 player overall player in the class of 2013 by ESPN and it’s easy to see why he’s rated that high.

He has a quick first step, is an elite defender, and can score with the best in his class. He is also a fantastic rebounder and his versatility was on display throughout the AAU National championships.

Coaches were lined up the sidelines and baseslines at the Wide World of Sports facility to see him for themselves. While Williams hasn’t formed a formal list yet he says Georgetown and Virginia Tech – “those are the top two.”

The two local schools are on him the hardest, but the talented swingman doesn’t seem too interested in focusing on his recruitment just yet. When asked how he felt that Seth Greenberg came to watch him he said “Yea it’s cool, but I’m not too worried about it just yet, it doesn’t mean much. By next July is when I’ll really focus on all of that.”

The Virginia native claims to have offers from Georgetown, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Texas, South Florida and Alabama already and figures to pick up a lot more after come August.

While he’s not quite sure what he wants from a program so far he did mention that he would like to play in a run and gun style.
