Number 83 – Deonte Burton, PG, Soph., Nevada

If you are looking for a sleeper team in the West, try Nevada on for size. The Wolf Pack returns nearly every important player from last year’s team, including Burton. The reigning Freshman of the Year in the WAC is back for a sequel. He was great in league play, scoring over 15 points a game and dishing out nearly 3.5 assists a contest.

He started slow last year but with games against teams like Portland, Washington, Boston, UNLV and others, that’s expected for a rookie point guard. He came alive in conference play and is primed for a big year with a team that should be much better than it’s 13 wins from 2011.

Burton is one the top guards in the West and one of the biggest sleepers nationally. Nevada has been home to great NBA talent and national sleepers in the past. This year’s team has four guys (Burton, Malik Story, Olek Czyz and Dario Hunt) that could really surprise.

2010-2011 STATS: 13.7 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 3.5 apg, 2.2 TO, 1.3 spg, 42.2% FG, 35.5% 3 pt
