Number 72 – Arsalan Kazemi, PF, Jr., Rice

There are some guys that are great shooters. Others are great passers. Some players have a niche as top flight ball-handlers or tremendous rebounders. But how many players are lumped into the “just plays harder than everyone else” category? It seems like a diminishing group. At the top of the hustler list has to be Kazemi.

The native of Iran is an all effort guy that has developed into a tremendous rebounder and one of the best players in the country at getting to the foul line.

This has to be the turn around season for the Owls and Kazemi should play a large roll in going from a 14-win team to a top four team in Conference USA. There are few rivals to Kazemi in rebounding and effort. Perhaps that energy is the tipping point for Ben Braun’s club this season.
