Number 68 – D.J. Cooper, PG, Jr., Ohio

I texted a coaching friend the other day and asked him if he could describe Cooper in one word what would it be? The answer was perfect.

“Ballsy.”

End of story. Cooper is a competitive mini-guard and one that loves the big moment.

If you are looking for areas of concern, you don’t have to look too hard. Cooper likes to gamble. That’s why he turns the ball over more than he probably should. You could argue that Cooper takes too many three-point shots that he shouldn’t take.

You’d be right. But if you are “ballsy”, isn’t that part of what makes you good?

On the flip side, he’s one of the top assist men in America and has put the Ohio Bobcats on his back to advance to the post-season during his college career.

2010-2011 STATS: 15.8 ppg, 5 rpg, 7.5 apg, 2.3 spg, 3.5 TO, 29.9% 3 pt
