Number 58 – Travis McKie, PF, Soph., Wake Forest

After last year’s disaster season for the Demon Deacons, it may come as a surprise to see anyone or anything from the 8-win year in 2010-2011 is receiving any sort of preseason praise this year.

Not so fast.

McKie, a 6-foot-7 bundle of energy, was the only real glimmer of hope for Wake and should be the go-to guy in the star-depleted ACC.

McKie’s attitude was positive last year despite all that happened in Winston-Salem. He was inconsistent, at times, but with a year under his belt and full ownership of being the go-to guy for the Deacons, there is some hope that things are going to be better in his second year in the ACC.

Being a 17 point, nine rebound guy in the league isn’t crazy. It should be realistic.

2010-2011 STATS: 13 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 1 apg, 2 TO, 0.9 spg, 1 bpg, 49.7% FG, 30.4% 3 pt
