Number 53 – Darius Johnson-Odom, SG, Sr., Marquette

Admittedly, I love Buzz Williams teams. Why? Because they are fun to watch. They compete. They defend. They entertain.

The foundation piece to all of this is Johnson-Odom. Hide your kids, hide your momma, hide your husbands. Don’t sleep on DJO because he can fly with the eagles.

Johnson-Odom is the biggest star on a team that doesn’t need a star to be effective. The bulk of DJO’s work comes by attacking the rim. In that regard, he’s one of the best in the game.

Marquette starts the season at the backend of some top 25 polls, which is about right. With non-conference games against Washington, Wisconsin and Vanderbilt on top of a busy and rough Big East schedule, the Golden Eagles (with DJO’s help) could be a top 15 sleeper this season.

2010-2011 STATS: 15.8 ppg, 3 rpg, 2.4 apg, 43.3% FG, 36.4% 3PT
