Number 48 – Quincy Miller, PF, Fr., Baylor

The Baylor Bears have one of the deepest frontlines in all of college basketball with Miller, Quincy Acy, Anthony Jones, Perry Jones, J’Mison Morgan and Cory Jefferson all in tow.

Miller is the latest multi-faceted recruit to lace ‘em up for Scott Drew and with his addition to an already talented lineup, the Bears start the season with monster expectations. Miller gives the Baylor lineup another versatile player that can play facing the basket or on the low blocks. Matching up with Baylor won’t be an easy task for anyone this year.

Those that have watched Miller at the prep level know what kind of player he is. The national media may not have a real idea yet. He wasn’t a McDonald’s All-American. He isn’t on the Wyman Tisdale Award watch list, a list of a dozen of the nation’s top freshmen.

Drew said people will be surprised to what they see with Miller this year.

“Quincy Miller provides a skill set that’s rare for a person his size. We’ve had some success with players like that at Ekpe Udoh, Perry Jones, people that have been — Anthony Jones — bigger, can handle the ball and shoot it,” Drew said. “I know he’s fit in well in practices and I think he’s recovered well from his surgery, and I think people are going to be excited to watch him this year and will enjoy watching him.”
