Number 45 – Jae Crowder, SF, Sr., Marquette

I didn’t miss very often on high school prospects in the great state of Georgia. I especially didn’t miss on players that were physical specimens that had to go to junior college. I love those kinds of players. They are the true wild card.

Enter Crowder.

I missed on him. Truth be told, everyone missed on him. Academics mixed with being tucked away in a small town off Interstate 20 never really drew a crowd of recruiters. Crowder was a good-looking quarterback and many believed that he would toy with the gridiron.

Then he went to South Georgia Tech on the coast of the Peach State. He left for Howard College and was an All-American.

We saw what he can do at the big-time level last year. And we only really saw the half of it. He started in less than 50 percent of Marquette’s games.

What Crowder is, is the most proficient player in college basketball. That’s what the Billy Beanes of college basketball say, at least.

We’ll see where Crowder really stacks up with the best of the best in the game this year.

At least we’ll know where to find him now.

2010-2011 STATS: 11.8 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 1.6 agp, 1.3 spg, 0.9 bpg, 0.8 TO, 48.5% FG, 35.9% 3PT
