Number 41 – Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, SF, Fr., Kentucky

Kidd-Gilchrist, one quarter of the Fab Four of the Kentucky freshmen, might be the most competitive freshman in all of the country. He lost one game his senior season at the famed St. Anthony. The 6-foot-7 Ron Artest like defender can defend all over the floor. He’s a sneaky shot-blocker, a pesky perimeter defender and a bully with the boards.

Even with all of the incredible talent in Lexington with top five NBA picks Anthony Davis and Terrence Jones, Kidd-Gilchrist may be the most important glue of all of the players because of his versatility.

John Calipari loves him. Hard not to, really.

When you look at the SEC, there are tremendous scorers around every corner. Kidd-Gilchrist will be asked to defend guys like Brad Beal on one night then Jeffery Taylor on another.

There’s no doubt that Kidd-Gilchrist could be a guy that shoots up the NHR Top 100 board as the season goes along.
