Number 38 – C.J. Leslie, PF, Soph., North Carolina State

Mark Gottfried has always had great production from his big men. He knows how to coach them and use them in his system. That being said, Leslie is in good position to have a monster season.

I like State as a sleeper in the ACC this year in large part because of what Leslie can do. We’ve seen him have some big-time moments against good teams (Syracuse game comes to mind). Then again, we’ve seen the not so good. He’s a bit bi-polar on the court though, especially at the end of the year when he didn’t close out strong. A lot of that can probably be attributed to the fall out of the Sidney Lowe era in Raleigh.

If Leslie can remain even-keeled, and he should with good players around him in DeShawn Painter, Richard Howell, Jordan Vandenberg and Tyler Harris, the Pack could have a nice season. Leslie can benefit with the beef that Howell brings and the length that Painter and Vandenberg provide.

2010-2011 STATS: 11 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.7 TO, 43.3% FG, 25% 3PT
