NY’s Finest: Isaiah Lewis is the next great guard to come out of NYC

ORLANDO – The Albany City Rocks team boasts one of the best rosters in the country with two top 15 players in Ricardo Ledo and DeJuan Coleman and talented 2012 forward Tyler Cavanaugh to back them up.

Isaiah Lewis is often forgotten when people think of City Rocks, but this week Ledo is in Puerto Rico trying out for the national team and Coleman is nowhere to be found.

Now it is up to Cavanaugh to be the primary scorer and Lewis to step up as the two man. In their first game at the AAU 17 and Under Nationals in Orlando, Canvanaugh and Lewis did just that. Cavanaugh scored when needed and Lewis was both a scorer and a distributor. Continue reading

ORLANDO — Kasey Hill is one of the top point guards in the class of 2013. He could one of the best point guard in the nation when it is all said and done. He can score the ball, is lightning quick off the dribble, and possesses   ridiculous court vision. All of these attributes where on display as Hill helped the Florida Rams Black squad dismantle the Boo Williams Summer League team 60-51 on Wednesday at the AAU Nationals. Continue reading

Canty connecting with A-10 school

Kareem Canty is the latest talented New York City area point guards, and like the great ones before him, he just wants to win.

Canty can both score and pass at an elite level and his ability to get into the lane is unparalleled. He is also a capable shot maker, especially off the dribble.
