Brothers now, rivals later

Spiece Indy Heat made it look easy on the first night of action at the Rose City Showcase in Portland. The young team made quick work of the ICP Portland squad. Everyone from the Indiana team wore a smile after the game and the feeling around the team was pretty loose and relaxed.

Guards James Blackmon and Bryson Scott sat back, spoke a little about the game and then packed their things up and prepped for a night back at the hotel. The starting guards are roommates. They always are on the road. The starting guards are also longtime friends.

I was in the rankings business for quite a while. Truth be told, I never really liked the process of ranking players. I never fully understood the end goal of it. I enjoy the process of comparing opinions on players but we, as an industry, always miss in both on the good and on the bad.

I suppose that is why we do it.
