The sophomore class of college basketball is loaded with stars at all levels. At the top of the class, there are a number of clear-cut superstars in the class. Two of the nation’s best players are sophomores. One of the fastest rising stars in the nation is a sophomore. The United States U19 team is coming home with the fifth place title from the FIBA World Championships.

The end result wasn’t the goal that the team wanted, of course. In fact, the tournament sparked a line of tweets about Jeremy Lamb from Jonathan Givony of Draft Express wondering about the good and bad about the UConn star. Continue reading

U19 American lost to Russia but, in reality, they lost long ago

The United States 19 and under men’s basketball team won’t be returning home from Latvia with a gold medal. In fact, they won’t return with any medal at all.

The Russians beat the U.S. team 79-74 on Friday. The best the Americans can do is fifth place.
