Michigan State never disappoints with Midnight Madness. In fact, I’d argue that the Spartans are the gold standard these days for tipping the season off right.

Tom Izzo has shown up as a Gladiator. He’s repelled to center court from the ceiling. He has driven out in a car. This year he came out in a fight jet. Well, a mini-fighter jet.

You’ve heard that term thrown about when talking shop with basketball coaches and scouts.

But have you ever heard, “Are you going to the game on the aircraft carrier?”

That question is a reality. Michigan State and North Carolina will play a game on a docked carrier in a San Diego harbor on Veteran’s Day. It will be the first NCAA basketball game ever played on top of an aircraft carrier. Continue reading
